Much of our fine furniture handmade in solid rosewood are based off classical cabinetmaking and proven mastered all-wood joinery. This style and construction method lends itself naturally fit to kitchen cabinetry. We recently completed another custom kitchen in Walnut Creek, California, totaling eleven pieces, including a lit curio and workstation island. Going solid rosewood is not only rare and exclusive, but also the most appreciated method in increasing the value of your home and highlighting the use and enjoyment of the most frequented space in your home – the kitchen.
Customer Feedback:
The kitchen furniture was designed and created completely by the Rosewood House. There were no unexpected issues. All timing was set properly, there was no delay, everything came well done and perfectly manufactured. It was done with love and responsibility. The beauty of rosewood in the kitchen is stunning, the whole house completely changed. We matched the wonderful design with high end appliances and beautiful granite, and the kitchen became a piece of art. - L & V.C.
Shaun Tai, a video producer, furniture designer, and RH staff architect, tours the Oakland store for an HD video experience. From blueprint renderings of Auto CAD custom designed furniture to select designer pieces at Rosewood House Fine Furniture & Asian Antiques:
The Hollywood film, Entrapment (1999, Jon Amiel), starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sean Connery, features Asian art. Specifically, the scene in which viewers are introduced to the personal home, err, castle of the master art thief in Sean Connery’s lead character.
The chacters fly in by helicopter overhead a magnificent stone building, Castle Duart on the Island of Mull. Catherine Zeta Jones’ character enters through the wood doors and is taken aback, impressed by the collectibles and artifacts in the living room.
The camera pans past the staircase to the living quarters upstairs displaying a beautiful Antique Korean Chest.
“Oh wow. This is quite a collection.”
“Thank you. Most people buy art to show it off, I collect art for me.”
In the next scene, there is an Official’s Hat accent chair in the bedroom.
The set decorators did a fabulous job and this is just one of many Hollywood films with set decorations featuring Asian art. When a home, like many Bay Area modern home builds featuring concrete and straight lines, is cold (a stone castle qualifies), an organic wood accent warms the space, creating character and depth, and invites the dweller in. This film does a great job at illustrating this concept.
