Genuine antique, handmade in South Korea with solid pear wood for the frame and elm wood for the face, preferred for woodwind instruments and especially Korean wooden chest furniture of the Chosun era. Two piece stacking chests, with exquisite burlwood inlay in symmetrical patterns on the face. Rich, warm feeling exemplified in the presentation with both the patina and the organic finish. Twin bat shaped hardware pulls on the face, emblematic of happiness and longevity – a play on the ornateness of the butterfly that bears a strong resemblence in sihoulette.
