Dragon Motif Porcelain Moonflask $799

Vintage (30+ years in Rosewood House collection), spherical shaped, fine porcelain, antique reproduction (1700’s) moonflask. Cylindrical neck, tapered handles, oval base, emblazened on both sides in ox blood copper tone, five claw imperial dragon in persuit of the omnipresent pearl. Underglaze in delicate blue, running clouds and crashing ocean waves. Qianlong (imperial kilns) seal stamp in underglaze blue, Chinese characters, on bottom of oval base. Includes stand and can optionally custom create any particular stand in solid rosewood upon customer’s specifications. Dimensions: 12″ diameter, 5″ depth, 15.5″ height, 16″ height on stand. On display in the Uptown Oakland store, available for immediate dispatch.

- Hong Kong Museum of Art published and illustrated a similar  moonflask circa 1977-1978.
- Christie’s published and illustrated a similar moonflask for their auction in “Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art”, Hong Kong, November 3rd and 4th, 1996.
